The とは
『冠詞』より : 冠詞（かんし；仏英article, 独Artikel, 西artículo）は、英語、フランス語など、インド・ヨーロッパ語族やセム語派の名詞の前ないし後に置かれる品詞であって、形容詞同様、名詞の修飾をする働きを持つ。しかし、形容詞は置く、置かないが任意なのに対し、冠詞については多くの場合文法的に置かなければならない、置いてはならないが決まっているのが大きな相違点である。指示代名詞の用法の一種が語源となっている。日本語には相当するものがない。名詞を修飾する形容詞が名詞の前に置かれている場合、冠詞はさらにその前に置かれる。また、形容詞が名詞の後に置かれる言語でも、冠詞は名詞の前に置かれる。ただしバルカン言語連合のルーマニア語やブルガリア語のように冠詞が名詞の後ろに置かれる言語もある。北欧諸語では、後置定冠詞が接尾辞化して名詞と結合する。
